    Yoga Basics (in-studio)

Good beginner yoga classes. The instructor’s explanations and queuing were great. A little too many people were attending the class, for my liking. However it was a Sunday at the beginning of the year. I imagine it will thin out a bit as time goes by.

    Beginning Muay Thai Kickboxing

The first time I have ever stepped into a kickboxing class and it was difficult but manageable and still fun. The instructor and assistant tried to give me extra instruction when possible which helped. If you are a newbie and curious, totally worth giving it a try.

This is a great studio, in fact this was the 1st studio that I began my yoga journey at! Class passers be aware that you must pull up your reservation confirmation upon check in. Unlike most places, this studio does not have your info up and ready. Gentle class was what I needed after taking barre the night before!

    Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Starts with a warm up, then coach teaches a technique, you practice with a partner. Last 10min is sparring but you don’t have to for you first time. Everyone is pretty chill and will go easy with the beginners.

    JiuJitsu - No Gi

Great class with an energetic and motivational coach. The class started with warmup, then the instructor taught a move and then we split into pairs to practice. I'm a beginner to BJJ and the move was a bit difficult so I observed at first. Group was friendly so they showed me the ropes and we practiced a simplified move. Last portion of class is rolling/sparring. All the partners were quite experienced and toned it down for me as a beginner, so it was fun and a learning experience overall.

It’s a Gi class but you can attend the first class without a Gi. You start with warmups and Jiu Jitsu solo movements. Then you’ll partner up and learn a few techniques. The instructor really explains the concepts very well. Great workout.

    Boxing

I saw Kadakus is a local, family-owned business and I wanted to support them. At first I was nervous since it's been years since my first and only boxing class, but the coaches, who are father and son, were so kind and welcoming. They made me feel right at home. They are supportive and attentive to all levels of experience and fitness. Their patience and encouragement had everyone focusing and smiling. I brought my own hand wraps and gloves but I believe they have loaner gloves for anyone that needs them. I did boxing first with Coach Jr, which started with a footwork warmup and then we moved onto a footwork and punching circuit which included stance-switching, circling, and slipping, with punches gradually being integrated in. Coach Jr made time for everyone in the class, making adjustments to movements and punches. We also did heavy bag and mitt work, where we worked timing and technique. Then we cooled down by shadow boxing. Since I enjoyed the class so much, I stuck around to do kickboxing with Coach Tre. We started warmups with hip turning and pivoting then moved onto kicking into kicking pads. Since this was my first ever kickboxing class, Coach Tre would adjust my techniques and give pointers, which I appreciated a lot. Since I didn't have shin guards, I couldn't do partner work, but Coach Tre instead had me and two other students without shin guards do bag work where we worked combos and techniques. Then we practiced more kicking in the ring with the kicking pads. The cooldown was also shadow boxing. Both coaches fit a lot into the hour they each had, and that just shows how smooth and efficient they are in their coaching. They always checked in and made room for any mistakes I made in the drills. Kadukus is a safe, judgement-free, learning environment that has a personable and homey feel to it. My only complaint is that I didn't find this place sooner. But here I am and it's wonderful 😊 Thank you, Kadukus 🙏🏽

    Adaptive Arts

Great studio with friendly staff. Adaptive arts is a class actually meant for special needs students. I did not know this and booked it, but they were still able to accomodate me in the class. The staff and instructor was great and attentive. Would definitely recommend (just not the adaptive arts class unless you are a special needs).

Big gym. Nice and clean. We started with warm ups with body weight exercises and BJJ movements. Then we partnered up and learned some techniques. It’s a great workout and you’ll build up a sweat. Everyone was great to work with.
