see all reviewsI attended a Chicago house dance class and loved the focus on celebrating house culture and movement. The instructor clearly had a strong understanding of the style, and the class offered a good introduction to house dance. That said, I found the atmosphere a bit uneasy at times. Clearer communication about class expectations—especially around recording—would help participants feel more comfortable. I also feel the space could benefit from more encouragement to foster inclusivity and connection. Overall, I appreciate the effort to teach and preserve this unique art form. I look forward to coming back and growing in this style!

see all reviewsI had a great experience in this class. Hadleigh is a wonderful teacher. She took us through a nice long warmup, followed by a couple of across the floor combinations, and a combo in the center to finish. I really enjoyed it.

see all reviewsThis class is the first class I have come back to (relatively) consistently. Cyrie is probably one of the best teachers I have ever had. She takes a very holistic and grounded to her teaching where it could be your first class or a professional and everyone will get something out of the class. The rooted space has become a true home and I have this class to thank for it.

see all reviewsSince it was my first time, I look up Jazz Dance on Youtube to see what I’m signing up to and it definitely was! The instructor was very charismatic and open to questions. You start with a warmup and then teaches you the move step by step and then add the music in between. They only seem to teach you up to verse 1 and chorus but that’s enough for the hour. Will do it again :)
